DJ deadmau5 teams up with Wilmington-based tech company
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY-TV) — Canadian music producer and DJ deadmau5 made an appearance in Wilmington on Friday.
The DJ also known as Joel Zimmerman partnered with local tech company 45drives to launch a data storage server for creatives in the entertainment industry.
The launch took place during the 45Drives creators summit at cape fear community college on Friday.
Doug Milburn, president of 45Drives shared his excitement for the launch and partnering with deadmau5.
“He’s a tech pioneer, known as an artist but technology pioneer, so having him come into our family and our group here is just amazing and having him in Wilmington is amazing too,” Milburn said.
45Drives is based in Wilmington and will be bringing hundreds of jobs to the area over the next five years.
The computer manufacturer and data storage company spent the last two years in nova scotia before coming to Wilmington this year for the annual summit.
