Woman arrested following deadly crash at Satellite Bar and Lounge

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Carolina Beach woman has been arrested and charged following a deadly crash at a popular bar in the South Front district in Wilmington.

Michelle Lane Masiello, 34, is accused of driving into the fence on the side of the parking lot near the outdoor area of Satellite Bar and Lounge just before midnight on Monday.

One person has been confirmed dead following the incident.

The Magistrate’s order identified the victim as Alec Chambers.

Masiello has been charged with felony death by vehicle, misdemeanor driving while impaired, misdemeanor reckless driving to endanger, and misdemeanor injury to real property.

On Tuesday morning, skid marks and spray paint could be seen in the gravel at the scene.
