WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Students seeking flexible training opportunities in high-demand careers will have more options this fall as Cape Fear Community College expands course offerings across several technical and workforce programs.

The new offerings include both daytime and evening classes in fields such as electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, mechatronics, criminal justice and business administration. Courses will be available at CFCC’s North Campus, Burgaw Campus and Alston Burke Surf City Campus.

CFCC President Jim Morton said the expansion reflects the college’s commitment to meeting student and workforce needs.

“We are committed to providing students with flexible pathways to education and career training,” Morton said in a statement. “Expanding these course offerings provides more opportunities for students to pursue their educational goals in a way that fits their schedules and needs.”

At CFCC’s North Campus, students will have access to new evening courses in the Electrical Systems Technology certificate program, including DC/AC Electricity and Residential Wiring. Plumbing students can also enroll in daytime Modern Plumbing courses as part of the certificate and diploma pathway.

The Burgaw Campus will expand offerings in Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Technology, with daytime introductory refrigeration classes. Mechatronics Engineering Technology students will also see new daytime options, including courses in automation and robotic fundamentals.

Meanwhile, the Alston Burke Surf City Campus will add several evening programs designed to accommodate working students.

New Surf City offerings include Criminal Justice Technology courses for certificate and associate degree students, along with expanded plumbing and HVAC coursework. Additional mechatronics classes in hydraulics, pneumatics and circuit analysis will also be available.

Students interested in business careers will have new evening options through the Business Administration Pathway Certificate program, including Principles of Financial Accounting and Introduction to Business.
