Wilmington man faces assault by strangulation charge

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man is facing felony and misdemeanor domestic violence charges following his arrest by the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.

According to jail records, Adam Bradley Capps, 36, was arrested early Friday morning and booked into the New Hanover County Detention Facility.

Capps is charged with:

  • Assault by strangulation, a felony.
  • Misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.

Jail records show the alleged offenses occurred late Thursday night.

Capps is being held on a $25,000 surety bond on the assault by strangulation charge. The domestic violence charge is listed with no bond map (NOMAP), and his case remains pending.
