New Hanover County offering back-to-school vaccine clinic with extended hours

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Families preparing for the 2026-27 school year can take advantage of extended hours at New Hanover County Health and Human Services’ back-to-school vaccine clinic.

The clinic is open to children from birth through 18 years old who will be enrolled in school or daycare and need age-appropriate immunizations.

The clinic is located at 1650 Greenfield Street and operates during regular business hours:

• Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
• Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Additional extended hours will be available from 8 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. on:

• Tuesday, Aug. 18
• Tuesday, Sept. 1
• Tuesday, Sept. 15
• Thursday, Sept. 24

Health officials ask families to bring insurance information if available, though every eligible child will receive vaccinations regardless of insurance status. Parents and guardians should also bring each child’s vaccination record. Vaccines can only be administered if the child is listed in the North Carolina Immunization Registry or has an immunization record from another state.

Spanish interpreters will be available on-site, and additional language translation services will also be offered.

Vaccines available at the clinic include:

• TDaP/DTaP (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis)
• Polio
• Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B
• Meningococcal vaccines (including the required vaccines for seventh and 12th grade students)
• MMR (measles, mumps and rubella)
• Varicella (chickenpox)
• HIB
• Prevnar 20
• Rotavirus
• HPV
