Leland police deem no public threat after responding to suspicious package

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The Leland Police Department says there is no threat to the public after responding to a call about a suspicious package Tuesday morning.

Leland PD says a call came in around 10:35 a.m. about the suspicious package in the 4200 Block of Harrington Road.

Officers met with those who located a cooler sealed with trash bags and duct tape.

A request for assistance was made to Wilmington Police Department’s Bomb Squad.

Upon further investigation, it was determined the item was of no threat to the public.
