NHSO: Man faces 18 charges for dumping stolen construction equipment into river
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says deputies have arrested a man on nearly 20 charges after he stole construction equipment and then dumped it into the Northeast Cape Fear River.
Ansco & Associates reported to authorities of the missing equipment on March 17. Two vehicles, trailers and mini excavators were taken. It was all later found submerged near the Castle Hayne boat ramp.
Nickolas Davis faces 18 charges of larceny and injury to personal property.
NHSO says Davis is a former Ansco & Associates employee.
