Three arrested following disturbance near Wilmington City Hall
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – Police have arrested three people following an incident that took place near Wilmington City Hall Monday night.
Police received a call about people dressed in black who were blocking traffic on N. 3rd St. and throwing fireworks. Officers asked them to move out of the roadway.
After leaving the area, officers received another call about people blocking the roadway again.
Officers, again, asked people to move; some did, but others allegedly did not.
According to WPD, Marion Timothy Joyner, Jamie McManus and Joshua Gordon Zieseniss were arrested.
According to the DA’s office, Joyner was charged with vandalism of a fence for events caught on city cameras on July 15, 2020 in front of City Hall. Joyner invoked his right to trial and after a bench trial, was found not guilty.
In October 2020, Joyner and Zieseniss were also charged for damaging a “Wilmington for Trump 2020” billboard sign located in downtown Wilmington.
