LAKE WACCAMAW, NC (WWAY) — A boil water advisory has been issued for parts of Lake Waccamaw, officials said on Friday.

The town says crews installing internet in the area hit a water line, causing it to leak.

The advisory is for James Ave. continuing to 1604 E. Old Highway 74/76. It includes James Ave., Bingham Lane, Wananish Ave., Fire Tower Rd., and East Columbus High School.

You should boil any water for consumption for at least one minute or use bottled water until the advisory has been lifted.
