Duplin Winery prepares for 42nd annual grape stomp

DUPLIN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Stomping grapes at Duplin Winery started out as a way to make wine. Now, it’s just for fun!

On Saturday, the winery is holding its 42nd Annual Grape Stomp celebration.

From 1-6 p.m., there will be live music from The Holiday Band, wine tastings and a grape stomping contest. Attendees get a chance to stomp grapes with their bare feet and some will have an opportunity to participate in a stomp-off for a prize.

Special vineyard and production facility tours and exclusive wine tastings will also be available for attendees. Organizers recommend purchasing a wine tasting ticket in advance.

There will be a food tent at the festival and the winery’s restaurant will be open on a first come first serve basis with extended hours.

Bring chairs to sit in and dancing shoes for shag dancing!

Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door. Wine tasting tickets are $10.
