Fire crews: Homes, apartment complex struck by lightning during weekend storms
LELAND, N.C. (WWAY) — Leland Fire and Rescue responded to four different calls Sunday morning as a result of early morning storms.
The calls were to three homes and one building that were struck by lightning. All the calls for service were made between 7 am and 8 am.
Leland Fire and Rescue says the homes on Webster Ct. and Cape Fear National Dr. were working structure fires upon their arrival. They say that the home on Leesburg Dr. and the building on Parsely Lane were not on fire upon arrival, but were both later upgraded to structure fires.
Fire crews say that all scenes were clear and accounted for by 9:36 am.
