MED Week returns to Cape Fear with events for local entrepreneurs

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Events for Minority Enterprise Development Week, or MED Week, will begin next week in the Cape Fear region.

The week is dedicated to empowering and building the local business community. 

Wilmington Minority Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Atiba Johnson spoke with WWAY’s Tomika Jackson about the annual event.

“A room full of people is a starting point,” Johnson said. “I want them to take away something tangible — a new customer, a new mentor, a new contact. Something that they can use to help scale and grow their business.”

The kickoff celebration will take place on Monday, October 5 at 6 p.m. at the WWAY Event Center at 1224 Magnolia Village Way in Leland.
