National Night Out returning to Founders Park in Leland on Oct. 6

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The Leland Police Department will host National Night Out on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Founders Park.
The free community event is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. at the park, located at 113 Town Hall Drive.
The event will feature local businesses, giveaways, yard games and a live DJ from Z107.5. Families can also use the park’s splash pad and playground while visiting police vehicles, fire trucks and community outreach tables.
Participating agencies and organizations are expected to include Leland Fire, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, the Oak Island Police Department, Coastal Horizons and other local partners.
Food vendors will also be available during the event, including Sip N’ Szns, Cheez Boss and Chocolate and S’more.
Leland Police Chief Jeremy Humphries said the event is intended to give residents an opportunity to connect with law enforcement and other community organizations.
“It’s a great opportunity to connect with the community and continue building strong relationships with our residents,” Humphries said.
National Night Out is held nationwide and brings communities and law enforcement agencies together as part of an effort to build relationships and promote safer communities.
