Several departments respond to Burgaw house fire

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — Multiple fire departments responded early Friday morning after reports of a house fire in Burgaw.

According to Deputy Fire Marshal Michael Carlisle, the call came in at 7:42 a.m. Firefighters responded to 3360 Whitestocking Road in Burgaw.

Carlisle said the house and a nearby storage building are both a total loss. No one was home at the time of the fire and no pets were inside.

Officials are still on scene; however, the fire is under control. Whitestocking Road is currently closed. Carlisle said it is expected to reopen within two hours.

Burgaw, Rocky Point, Penderlea, Maple Hill, Pender County EMS and Fire, NC Forest Service, Pender County Sheriff’s Office and the deputy fire marshal all responded.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
