Two found dead in Wilmington home, police investigating

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Two people were found dead this morning in a home off of Masonboro Loop Road in Wilmington.

Wilmington Police say they responded to a 911 call around 11:20 a.m. in the Andrews Reach subdivision. That’s where they found two bodies.

Police say the deaths are “suspicious,” but they could not give any other details at this time.

Neighbors would not go on camera, but they told WWAY that the family had just moved in and that they were shocked this happened in a quiet family neighborhood.

New Hanover County property records show the home was bought by a couple in early May.

Police did not release any new information following the coroner’s office leaving the home with the two bodies. A police lieutenant on scene did tell WWAY there is no threat to the general public.

A source tells WWAY more information should come Wednesday, as the department is reaching out to family members of the deceased.
