WPD: Hit and run suspect turns himself in

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police said a hit and run suspect who intentionally rammed a South Carolina Woman’s vehicle last Friday turned himself in.

Officers had obtained warrants for Adam Garrett Curtis, 24, for assault with a deadly weapon, hit and run leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, and driving with license revoked.

Wilmington Police sent out a tweet Thursday night saying Curtis turned himself in.

According to two witnesses and the victim, Curtis was driving erratically westbound in the 1900 block of Market Street when he purposely swerved and stuck her vehicle two times on the right passenger side. The suspect caused approximately $2,000 damage to the victim’s car.

After hitting the victim, the suspect pulled over briefly then sped away toward downtown.
