Golf course honors rescue workers, military with free round

HAMPSTEAD, NC (WWAY) -- A Pender County golf course is honoring the men and women who risk their lives on the job each day.

This week Castle Bay Country Club and Golf Course in Hampstead is inviting all active duty military, police, fire and EMS to join them for a free round of golf. The deal includes green fees and cart rental. All you need is an active ID card and clubs.

"We just want to give back to the people that serve us," Castle Bay head golf pro Arty Scott said. "I mean all these people do, look at the military, the police, the firefighters, EMTs. They're the ones that protect us and help us, and we just want to give back to them and show them a good time out here for nothing."

The offer runs through Sunday.
