Coleman’s Original Calabash Restaurant was one of two restaurants in the area when it was built in 1940. In August of last year, an electrical fire destroyed parts of the structure and many of those memories from over the years. The business opened up today at 11 a.m.

“Our friends and family are a big part of what has gotten us through this year,” a post read on its Facebook page.

The restaurant features new additions to the building, said General Manager and fourth-generation owner Crystal Coleman-Nixon.
