Brunswick Co. Board of Elections to hear challenge on commission primary
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Board of Elections will hold a full hearing on a challenge to a county commission primary.
Board Director Sara Knotts said Republican candidate Alan Lewis submitted a protest claiming another candidate Louie Lewis does not live in the district.
Mike Forte won the Republican primary for the District 4 seat with 7,371 votes. Alan Lewis finished second with 6,911 votes followed by Louie Lewis with 2,819.
Knotts said the Board of Elections decided Thursday that there was enough there to hold a hearing. She said they will hear from witnesses and hear testimony. The hearing will be held May 4 at 9 a.m.
