Beach Bag Bandits get nabbed, property recovered

Thanks to one of our viewers, Wrightsville Beach detectives have nabbed the Beach Bag Bandits we told you about Monday. Monday night, a tip led detectives to arrest 23-year-old Joshua Barnts and 20-year-old Brandon Cordell of Wilmington.

State funds are now available for victims of this area's flooding three weeks ago. Small businesses, homeowners, and renters may be eligible for low interest loans to pay for flood damage caused by a severe storm on July 6th.

Federal stimulus money helps add to WPD staff

There was some good news Tuesday for the Wilmington Police Department. The WPD is getting 2 million dollars in federal stimulus money to hire more officers. Chief Ralph Evangelous and Mayor Bill Saffo held a joint news conference Tuesday at City Hall.

NC town board approves contract for deputies
