The CFPUA Operations Department has repaired and mitigated a sewer spill which occurred on April 23, 2011. The incident was reported at 5:45 p.m. and the spill was stopped at 6:20 p.m. (approximately 40 minutes, observed). The spill was from a manhole located at the end of Myrtle Ave. along Bradley Creek. The spill was caused by a failure of the bypass pumping system being used to bypass pump station 35 at Bradley Creek during upgrade and rehabilitation work at the pump station.

Easter Sunday was turned out to be terrific for the UNCW men's tennis team. The Seahawks captured the CAA men's tennis title. When you add in the golf titles UNCW secured on Sunday, this was clearly an historic day for UNC Wilmington athletics.

The UNCW men's golf team captured first place in the CAA golf tournament holding onto the lead they had entering the final round. New Hanover grad Josh Brock led the UNCW contingent at the three day event in Pinehurst. The UNCW women's golf team also won in come from behind fashion to claim the CAA women's title.
