New Hanover County Animal Services says the 20th case of rabies this year has been confirmed in the county.
Yesterday, Animal Services was called to pick up a fox that was killed by a family dog.

Two teens are out of custody after being accused of stealing of a scooter and running from police. Wilmington Police say an officer saw the boys on a scooter at Wrightsville Country Store on Wrightsville Avenue. Neither boy was wearing a helmet, but both had their faces covered with bandanas.

The search for the captain of a tall ship that sank in the Atlantic during Sandy is in its third day.
Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Brandyn Hill said Wednesday morning that a cutter searched for Robin Walbridge overnight and two C-130 planes would join the search during the day.

Authorities in Jacksonville accuse of woman of pouring scalding hot water on her 9-month-old daughter.
