Seven girls face charges in alleged gang fight at school

The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office is preparing juvenile petitions against seven girls allegedly involved in a fight at a Wilmington middle school last week. Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt. Jerry Brewer says investigators believe the fight Thursday at Williston Middle School was gang related.

Brenda Fullwood, a retiree from Bolivia in Brunswick County, got a lot more than she bargained for at a pawn shop in Shallotte. The Carolina Cash 5 ticket she bought at Jenny's Pawn Shop on Holden Beach Road matched all five numbers in Monday's drawing to win the $91,855 jackpot.
