Sheriff's Office conducts training exercise with Emergency Response Team

The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office developed a scenario for the exercise, detailed in about 40 pages, where an inmate from the prison system escaped and corralled himself inside a building at ILM.

video Sgt. Jerry Brewer says Thomas Lloyd Kimball III and Richard Blake Sutherland had been skeet shooting and returned to campus to pick up their girlfriends when a school resource officer asked to see what they had in their vehicle.

New Hanover Co. man arrested for kidnapping and domestic abuse

According to the report Dailey and the mother of his children got into an argument Sunday morning. The victim stated that during the argument Dailey grabbed her face, choked her and bound her hands with cords. At one point the victim fled the house, followed by Dailey carrying their 11 month old in his arms as her attempted to restrain her and drag her back into the house.
