CFCC raises $215,000 for students

Cape Fear Community College raised $215,000 for scholarships at its annual Gift of Education luncheon. More than 600 guests packed the Schwartz Center for the event hosted by the CFCC Foundation.

UPDATED: CFPUA responding to another sewer line break on 23rd Street

CFPUA crews are responding to a sewer main break in the vicinity of 23rd Street and MLK Parkway. Due to the location of the line, it is necessary to close a portion of 23rd Street near MLK in order for crews to assess the situation and facilitate repairs.

It took longer than Connor Barth wanted or expected, but the former Hoggard High School kicker is now one of the highest paid kickers in the NFL. Barth signed a four year contract on Thursday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
