Colorado shooting on minds of Wilmington movie watchers

video Although it happened across the country, the shooting at a movie theater in Colorado that killed at least a dozen people hits close to home. Even the biggest of fans told us the shooting made them think twice Friday about going to a movie they've been waiting years to see.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Market-3rd Street intersection to be partially closed starting Monday

From July 23-Aug. 3, there will be partial closures of the Market/3rd Street intersection while a large manhole is installed and paving and other work is completed. The work will occur in two phases, with detours in place for each phase.

Train Camp kids end journey at Wilmington Railroad Museum

All aboard for Train Camp at the Wilmington Railroad Museum. Kids are treated to a tour of rail sites. They also build train cars and buildings, run model trains and design and build a take-home scene... all on their own scale.

Sea turtle recovers after trip to Raleigh for special surgery

video Summer is in full swing, and that means it's busy season at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital in Topsail Beach. The facility is full of turtles in need of help. And one in particular just got some special attention. We told you yesterday about an injured sea turtle taken to Raleigh for surgery. Today, we stopped by the hospital to check on patient.

Duplin Co. teen profiled in ESPN 'My Wish' series

Tonight ESPN profiles a Duplin County teen battling leukemia who got to met his hero. Jesus Reyes, 14, is preparing to play football for East Duplin High School. He is also undergoing chemo treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia at Children's Hospital at UNC Chapel Hill.

Kickback Jack's goes to court to appeal smoking fines

The owner of the Kickback Jack's in Wilmington has asked the New Hanover County District Court to reverse the county board of health's decision to uphold fines against the restaurant for violating state smoking laws.
