Marine charged in cabbie assault released from jail, runs from reporters

A Marine charged with attacking a Surf City cab driver earlier this month is out of jail. Adam Kinosh appeared in Onslow County Court today for charges related to the September 10 attack.

Brunswick Co. deputies pass out fliers as search for missing girl continues

video Deputies have checked reports of the man and girl in Brunswick County, but they have not led to anything so far. Investigators say to keep an eye out. They are even distributing fliers to hotels in the county.

New Hanover County has received a notice of appeal from fired Parks, Gardens and Senior Resources Director Jim McDaniel. A county spokesman says it could take more than a month before the appeal is heard.

The nonprofit PTA is suing a for-profit rival amid a decades-long slide in membership. The National Parent Teacher Association filed a lawsuit against PTO Today on Wednesday in US District Court in Chicago.

Publicist: 'Moon River' singer Andy Williams dies

Emmy-winning TV host and "Moon River" crooner Andy Williams has died at age 84. Williams' publicist, Paul Shefrin, said Wednesday that the silky-voiced singer died Tuesday night at his home in Branson, Mo., following a year-long battle with bladder cancer.
