NHRMC ends flu-related visitor restrictions

Due to the decrease in the level of influenza in the community, New Hanover Regional Medical Center is removing the visiting restrictions placed on children under the ages 12 and under. This change is effective immediately.

FIRST ON 3: Records show spike in prisoners injured in Bladen Co. jail

videoRecords WWAY requested through the Freedom of Information Act from Bladen County show that eight inmates had to be taken to the hospital after jail fights in 2012. That's compared to six over the previous three years combined.

Ex-Fort Bragg soldier sentenced in fraud scheme

A former Fort Bragg soldier is headed to federal prison for defrauding the government. Natosha June Boyd was sentenced to 30 months in prison to be followed by 3 years of supervised release for her involvement in submitting false claims through the U.S. Department of Defense's travel reimbursement system.

New magazine coming to Wilmington

The Pilot’s line of monthly arts and culture magazines will grow later this spring when it launches a new magazine in Wilmington. Like the name implies, Salt magazine will reflect the coastal culture of Wilmington when it debuts in late May.
