WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Brian Berger has defeated incumbent Bill Caster for the final spot in this fall's race for New Hanover County Commission. Berger claims the second Republican nomination along with Rick Catlin. They will face off with Democrats Deborah Butler and Sid Causey for two seats left open after Caster's defeat and Bobby Greer's retirement.
Berger maintained a lead of about 30 percentage points over Caster throughout the evening. In the end Berger received 3,598 votes to Caster's 1,953.
Caster has served as a New Hanover County Commissioner for 18 years.

Great news !
It was a sound defeat for Bill Caster. There is more work to be done on Mr. Berger's behalf to pull him through in the fall. I do not view Mr.Caster's record as one of accomplishment. Good riddance Mr.Caster . Hopefully , you will not venture into politics anymore. Your negative campaigning hurt your cause.
