The Charlotte Knights baseball team is a step closer to playing its games in a new stadium.
The Charlotte City Council on Monday voted 7-4 in favor of giving the team $8 million toward the project.

Port City Baseball is hosting a rally at Hell's Kitchen to support a proposed ballpark in Wilmington. The event will also raise money to build a Miracle Field, which is a special baseball field that allows handicapped children and adults enjoy the national pastime.

The Richmond Flying Squirrels and the city have agreed that the best place for a new stadium is Richmond's fleet maintenance facility on the Boulevard, adjacent to The Diamond, but there is no firm plan. Financing remains the missing piece.
