Wilmington native Brack Hardee is battling brain cancer. Former Boston Red Sox outfielder Trot Nixon and several of his friends from the baseball fraternity will be organizing a one day baseball camp fundraiser next week to raise funds to assist in Brack's fight against cancer.

Last night was a wild one in Major League Baseball. Two different leagues, two different Wild Card races and two historic collapses. One Wilmington super fan had a front row seat. Steve Melia completed his 162-game journey last night.

As a nation, September 11, 2001, will always represent a dark day in our history. But for a member of the WWAY family, it has a much different meaning.
