Florida State is the preseason pick to win the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Media members covering the league's media days on Monday selected the Seminoles and Virginia Tech to win their divisions. They have been the preseason divisional picks every year since 2009.

ACC football coaches gathered in Greensboro on Sunday for the first of two days of meeting with the media. Miami was a hot topic of discussion. More NCAA concerns have popped up at Miami. The Heels received a fair amount of attention on Sunday as well as the prepare to serve a one year bowl ban.

The Big East has reached an agreement with Syracuse University, allowing the Orange to leave the league a year early for the Atlantic Coast Conference.

UNC's Tyler Zeller, NC State's CJ Williams and Duke's Miles Plumlee will be hoopin' it up at Brunswick Community College on Thursday. The ACC Barnstorming Tour all-star basketball game will be played at the Gore Center on the BCC campus.

The North Carolina Tar Heels earned a spot in the ACC finals with a victory over NC State on Saturday in Atlanta. UNC will face Florida State on Sunday. The Seminoles beat Duke. This is only the the second appearance for Florida State in the ACC men's basketball finals.

The Atlantic Coast Conference has granted North Carolina place-kicker Casey Barth a medical hardship waiver for the 2011 season. That means the Wilmington native gets a fifth year of eligibility in 2012.
