Rotary partners with Williston Middle School to help students

The Rotary Club held a luncheon today to kick off the Williston Legacy Project. Rotary is partnering with the school to provide technology and literacy programs to help students. Not only that, rotary will provide speakers, mentors, tutors and volunteers for school events and academic clubs.

Wilmington Council says no to buying land along river

Wilmington City Council voted not to buy a plot of land along the Cape Fear River. City Council held a special meeting this afternoon to discuss wether to buy nearly eight acres of land known as the Sawmill Point Marina site.

Boil water advisory issued for New Hanover neighborhood

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority Customers in a New Hanover County neighborhood are advised to boil their water before using it. Customers in the Laurel Ridge subdivision near Carolina Beach Road reported a loss of service or low water pressure Monday night.

Surfers Healing a swell time for children with Autism

However, for the sixth straight year, Surfers Healing came to Wrightsville Beach. Founder and former pro surfer Izzy Paskowitz led the charge today as over 200 children hit the waves.
