The search is off for the missing captain of the HMS Bounty. The United States Coast Guard suspended the search Thursday morning 200 miles southeast of Hatteras.

On October 31, 1765, angry Wilmingtonians held a mock funeral for Liberty the day before the Stamp Act was to go into effect. The Stamp Act placed taxes on most forms of paper in the colonies, including newspapers, letters, pamphlets and wills.

The City of Wilmington apparently knows which site it wants to build a ballpark if voters approve a bond referendum.
WWAY has obtained the latest draft copy of an option agreement for the city to purchase land from Sawmill Point Investors, LLC, of Charlotte.

Wilmington Police have arrested a man for a murder earlier this week. Investigators say Timothy Wayne Chinn, 43, was stabbed to death at a home in the 3600 block of Metting Road early Tuesday morning.
