20 suspected drug dealers arrested during ‘Operation Fall Harvest’

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – 20 suspected drug dealers are behind bars in Bladen County, after Sheriff Deputies conducted a drug sweep called Operation Fall Harvest.

Bladen County Sheriff James A. McVicker said his deputies began the drug roundup at 5:00 am Thursday, targeting 26 dealers in the county.

“Operation Fall Harvest is the culmination of many months of hard work by my Narcotics Unit,” said McVicker. “My deputies, with the assistance of members of North Carolina Probation and Parole began an early morning sweep to arrest these individuals. My deputies have made numerous undercover buys over the past few months all over the county. We began our roundup this morning sending teams of officers across the county to wake these criminals, place them under arrest, and bring them to justice.”

Arrested and charged with drug violations:

  • Timothy Parker, 43
  • Aaron Newkirk, 40
  • Steve Leach, 30
  • Anthony Parker, 29
  • Alfred Burney, 32
  • Reginald Hatcher, 45
  • Michael Clemmons, 58
  • Carlton Pone, 42
  • Dora Johnson, 54
  • Clara Shipman, 61
  • Michael McClendon, 33
  • Treimain Thomas, 38
  • Jean Williams, 66
  • William Purdie, 32
  • Terrell Shipman, 37
  • Lubertha Drayton, 63
  • Obadiah Jones, 27
  • Curtis Riggins, 58
  • Tommy Collins, 26

McVicker said other criminals with outstanding warrants were also arrested during the roundup. Marcus McKoy, 24, of Clarkton, was charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Second Degree Kidnapping
