Conway dentist charged with obtaining drugs for personal use

A Conway dentist has been arrested for violating drug distribution laws and obtaining drugs for his own personal use.

According to an arrest warrant, police say between May 9, 2016, and July 11, 2017, Richard H. Bond, 73, unlawfully obtained hydrocodone by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery, deception, and/or subterfuge.

Bond is a licensed dentist at the Dental Wellness Center on 6th Avenue in Conway.

Police say Bond obtained the drugs by ordering it from the wholesaler for his own personal use.

He has been charged with violating drug distribution law, non-controlled, imitation controlled substance, prohibited acts C.



Bond was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control on August 18 at 11:30 a.m.

He was released the same day at 12:48 p.m. No bail was set.
