Local leader pushes to raise penalty for pharmacy break-ins

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A proposed bill supported by Representative Carson Smith aims to crack down on pharmacy break-ins.

House Bill 212 would increase the punishment for breaking and entering a pharmacy.

Right now, it is considered a felony if someone breaks into a pharmacy.

Under the new bill, the seriousness of the crime would be greater.
