2 Tar Heels win weekly ACC awards

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Two players from North Carolina are among six honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Linebacker Durrell Mapp and receiver Brandon Tate earned the league's weekly awards for defensive backs and specialists, respectively.

They were joined by quarterback Cullen Harper of Clemson, tight end Tom Santi of Virginia, linebacker Jolonn Dunbar of Boston College and running back Jonathan Dwyer of Georgia Tech.

Dunbar had eight tackles and returned an interception 14 yards for a touchdown in a rout of North Carolina State.

Mapp had 18 tackles in the Tar Heels' loss to East Carolina, and Tate returned a punt 58 yards for a touchdown — his school-record-tying fifth kick or punt return for a score.
