2nd Annual Stop the Violence, Start the Peace Rally this Saturday!

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) —  The Support the Port Foundation is holding their 2nd Annual Stop the Violence, Start the Peace Rally this weekend during the Azalea Festival.

Organizers say the event will offer everyone free food, art activities including painting and tie dyeing, as well as live performance from artists all around the country.

Cedric Harrison, founder of the non-profit and former WWAY Extraordinary Person of the Week,  says the goal of the event is to bring the people of Wilmington together with music and art, from all genres, cultures, and backgrounds.  The event will be held Saturday, April 8th 2017 at Portia Hines Park located at N 10th & Rankin Streets in Wilmington from 1:00pm-4:00pm.  There will also be speeches being made from influential people and community leaders.
