Intermittent closures on Cape Fear Memorial Bridge begin

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Starting Monday, the NCDOT will intermittently close lanes in both directions of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge for biannual inspections.

The closures will continue through next week, and are scheduled between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and then 9:30 a.m. to noon Friday.

A NCDOT spokesman said at least one lane of traffic will remain open at all times in both directions. There will not be any detours during the work, and drivers are asked to use alternate routes to avoid traffic.

The intermittent closures will go on through Wednesday, February 17.
