HISTORIC HOME TOUR: Scarborough House
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Scarborough House, which is yellow, is closely related to the Fox-Holden House, which is pink.
They’re both on this weekend’s Azalea Festival Home Tour. The yellow house at 113 N. 9th Street is next door to the pink house.

Dan Brawley, the executive director of Cucalorus, owns both of the nearly-identical homes. They make up the Cucalorus Campus. Brawley said half of the year it functions as an AirBnB for tourists, and the other half it runs as a residency program for filmmakers.
“We’re actually developing relationships with filmmakers, you know, over the course of their career, so this let’s us do that in a completely new and different way,” Brawley said.
The two houses were connected in the beginning as well. The daughter of the couple who built the pink house put up the yellow house with her husband in 1894.
You can see both on the Azalea Festival Home Tour Saturday and Sunday.
