82nd Airborne paratrooper killed during training

FORT BRAGG, NC (AP) — A military official says an 82nd Airborne paratrooper has been killed and two others seriously injured in an explosion during a training exercise at Fort Bragg.

A statement from the division said five paratroopers were treated for minor injuries and released from Womack Army Medical Center. The accident occurred Friday morning.

No further details were available.

The statement said the identities of the paratroopers will be released after next of kin is notified.

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
