Belville plans to add more to riverwalk

Belville, NC (WWAY) — The town of Belville held their ground breaking event for the new riverwalk addition.

Belville received a grant from duke energy to put in walking trails along with an educational center.

Mayor Mike Allen says adding this will show the historical side of Belville and hopefully bring tourism from all over, but especially from New Hanover County.

Senator Bill Rabon said, “Brunswick county is the destination as you know and this will just be another place they can come to visit when they come Brunswick and New Hanover counties and to the beaches. It’s just another piece to the piece.”

Belville hopes to make the town a destination spot for people want to travel to with their family and friends. The riverwalk is the only public access from Brunswick county to the Cape Fear River for several miles.
