Weather forces cancellation of Cape Fear Fair & Expo Saturday

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — If you missed the big storm overnight, you might have thought the bright sunshine this morning signaled a nice day ahead. But the fair weather did not last long enough to translate into, well… Fair weather.

With heavy rain, falling temperatures and the threat of strong winds moving in throughout the day, organizers this morning cancelled the Cape Fear Fair & Expo for Saturday. They hope to open on schedule Sunday.

Sunday’s hours are from 1 p.m. until 11 p.m. The fair is open Monday through Thursday 5-11 p.m., Friday 5 p.m.-midnight and next Saturday noon-midnight.

General admission is $20, but if you don’t like the rides, you can get a walkaround ticket Monday through Thursday for just $5. Click here for tickets and other information
