Overnight shopping helps bargain hunters escape the crowds

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — For many folks around the Cape fear, holiday shopping got a jumpstart on Thanksgiving Day. A number of stores opened their doors just after dinner time for eager bargain hunters to kick off the gift giving season.

Target in Wilmington opened for business at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, and have remained open throughout the night. The infamous Black Friday crowds were not something overnight shoppers had to deal with there, as they easily made their way through a fairly empty store.

Most customers agree that they prefer this crowd free shopping experience while searching for deals and door busters. Some got exactly what they were looking for, while others turned up empty handed, but over all almost everyone agrees that the great sales made the adventure into the wee hours of the morning well worth it.
