Hospital looking to fill 60 open positions

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –- YS Companies is partnering with New Hanover Regional Medical Center to recruit new employees in a two day job fair.

A team will be available to accept resumes and talk with candidates today and tomorrow from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the YS Building located at 2517 Delaney Ave.

Sandra Youngblood, Vice President of YS Companies said there are about 60 positions to fill. She said most of those job openings are for certified nursing assistants, but they are looking to hire for other positions as well.

A spokeswoman for the hospital said pay varies on the job title and how much experience a candidate offers.

Organizers say between 30-40 people walked through the doors in just the first half hour alone.

“We were dumbfounded,” said Youngblood. “We have had a constant flow since we started at 9 o’clock this morning, and anticipate having just as many this afternoon.”

Youngblood said YS Companies offers digital hiring as well. For example, if a possible candidate could not make it to the job fair and is interested in applying, they can send their resume electronically and then have an online interview.
