Police: Man admits to hiding heroin in underwear during search

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say a stop for revoked tags turned into a drug arrest after a passenger in the car they pulled over admitted to hiding heroin in his underwear.

Police say just after 10 p.m., officers stopped the vehicle in the 3900 block of Princess Place Drive. That’s when they say officers noticed the backseat occupant, Glenn Harry Bowen, 23, moving items around in the back seat.

Officers say when the driver gave them consent to search the car, they found 10 bindles of heroin in the backseat where Bowen was sitting. When they arrested Bowen, police say he admitted to having additional heroin in his underwear, where they then found 40 more bindles of the drug.

Police say Bowen was already on probation for the same offenses, and now faces charges for possession with the intent to sell and distribute the drug. Bowen is booked in the New Hanover County Jail under $20,000 secured bond.
