Santa Cop goes shopping

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Officers with the Wilmington Police Department took a break from the streets this morning to go shopping.

WPD is helping to make Christmas special for 42 area kids this holiday season with its Santa Cop Program.

Today the children and the officers meet for breakfast and then got to go on a $100 shopping spree.

This is the 24th year the department has done this.
