Flaming Amy’s Bowl plans to franchise
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington restaurant is heading toward the big time. Flaming Amy’s Bowl is going to start growing and welcoming franchises in its future.
Wilmington has its share of businesses that started small and made it big, Port City Java and Fuzzy Peach, to name a few.
Flaming Amy’s started their first restaurant in Wilmington in 2000, and they have been successful ever since. The Flaming Amy’s Bowl concept is a simpler one than their Burrito Barn, and it is one they say would be perfect for new locations.
Amy Muxworthy says starting their business in the Port City was a bold move for them; a bold move that has paid off.
“It’s probably not what business owners want to hear, but we operate a lot on impulse and gut feeling and what feels right to us and for the most part it has really worked out,” said Muxworthy, who is also known as “Flaming Amy.”
She says they have gotten more than a dozen inquiries about franchises so far, and they hope to have something signed by spring. They are also planning to have their first franchise opened somewhere within driving distance from Wilmington.
