Health officials visit the Port City and meet with VA staff

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs Sloan Gibson visited the Port City today and met with VA staff members and congressional representatives.

Gibson noted many changes that are being made within VA health care centers including a way to connect patients and doctor electronically known as Teleheath.

“It improves access to care for these Veterans really makes it less onerous for them and it’s also happens to be more economical and more efficient way for us to be able to deliver care,” said Gibson.

Gibson will speaking at UNCW Friday night to students and health professionals in McNeill Hall, Room 1051 at 6:30 pm.
